More Than a Dozen Lehigh Valley Democratic Leaders Endorse Arlen Specter

Led by Lehigh County Executive Don Cunningham and Democratic Party Chairman TJ Rooney, top Democratic leaders from across the greater Lehigh Valley endorsed Senator Arlen Specter for re-election Monday morning at an event in Allentown.

“Arlen Specter has been a consistent moderate voice for Pennsylvania who has been more focused on results than politics, something we need more of in our country today,” said Cunningham. “In addition, in my 15 years in government in the Lehigh Valley, regardless of political affiliation, I’ve found him to be consistently engaged in and responsive to issues that affect our region. Keeping Arlen Specter in the U.S. Senate will be good for our country, our state and our region.”

“Senator Specter’s clout and independence have served the Lehigh Valley and Pennsylvania well.” said Northampton County Democratic Chairman Joe Long. “In these uncertain times, his proven track record is what we need.”
