Specter Advisory Committee Expands To 261 Members, Each of State’s 67 Counties Now Represented
Harrisburg – With 47 new additions today, Senator Arlen Specter’s Advisory Committee reached an important milestone – members from each of the state’s 67 counties.
Formed to assist in his campaign for the 2010 Democratic nomination to the U.S. Senate, Specter’s Advisory Committee includes rank and file Democratic leaders from across the state.
“I make it a point to regularly visit all 67 counties, so I am especially proud that my Advisory Committee now has members from every county in the Commonwealth,” said Specter. “It shows the depth and breadth of support for the work I do in the state, and for my campaign.”
In endorsing Specter, Lebanon County Commissioner Jo Ellen Litz recalled the Senator’s nationally broadcast confrontation with opponents of health care reform in her county, “As Senator Specter came to Lebanon and stood up to fight for health care reform, I am standing up for him today,” she said.
Included among the 47 new Advisory Committee members (attached) are: one state representative, nine County Commissioners or County officeholders, five Mayors or Mayors-elect, eight local elected officials, 16 Democratic Party Chairs and officials, two College Democrat leaders and six local party leaders.
