Specter shows support for clean energy legislation

I would like to commend Sen. Specter for voting in November for federal clean energy legislation that will repower Pennsylvania's economy with solar and wind power and cut global warming pollution.
Sen. Specter's support of the legislation is especially heartening after reading President Obama's recent prediction that economic stimulus funding for non-polluting energy projects would result in tens of thousands of high-quality, clean energy jobs for the country. Investing in clean energy creates jobs in manufacturing, selling, installing, and servicing wind turbines, solar panels, and super-efficient automobiles. Plus, renovating our homes and businesses with the latest technologies will help stop wasting energy and save consumers money. Shifting to clean energy will help reduce our dependence on oil and stop global warming.
Sen. Specter showed his leadership when he supported this critical clean energy legislation. This kind of leadership from our government officials will help Pennsylvania reach its goal (as recommended by PennEnvironment) of producing 25 percent of its electricity from renewable resources by 2025. I urge the rest of the Senate to follow his lead in supporting clean energy this spring.
